Come join us! The Automotive Components Division of Windsor Mold Group is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers.  We offer a great work environment offering industry-competitive pay and benefits. 

We currently have an opening at our Windsor, Ontario location for a Product Engineer.  The ideal candidate for this position is team-focused with excellent communication skills and would be responsible for the following:

• Manage the product design to the timeline, meeting key milestones. Support product design issues during the life of the program.
• Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate, and communicate product design risks.
• Manage the change process as they relate to product design to ensure timely implementation of product changes.
• Understand and communicate client product design needs to the internal team. Promote high standards of professional integrity on all proposed and actual client business solutions.
• Communicate product design expectations to design suppliers.
• Support customer plants at launch on product issues.
• Ensure timely completion of design activities understanding internal and external customer requirements.
• Coordinates and participates in customer design reviews.
• Conducts tool feasibility reviews with tool shop. Ensure that the appropriate team members are engaged for all new design feasibilities (Tooling, Manufacturing, Process, Design).
• Support warranty activities as required.
• Ensure timely release of design in customer engineering system.
• Responsible for ensuring DFMEA's are completed and maintained for the product.
• Develop and manage product DVP&R, obtain customer approval of initial DVP&R and completed DVP&R.
• Provide input to Lessons Learned Database.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor degree or diploma is required (Engineering, Manufacturing).
• A minimum of 3 years of automotive work experience with knowledge of product design.
• Experience with injection molding and product assemblies.
• Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional product teams within budgetary and schedule constraints.
• Strong technical and business aptitude.
