We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Quality Manager at our Manufacturing Operation in Saline MI.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:

The Quality Manager performs a wide variety of quality tasks requiring thorough knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes. The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the plant in ensuring conformance to the quality system and for leading in its continual improvement.

  • Establishes and maintains consistent quality operating procedures and documentation.
  • Manages all quality reporting for timeliness and accuracy. Drives the quality system ensuring that procedures and practices are in place and being adhered to. Involvement in continuous improvement of these procedures and practices.
  • Ensures quality system integrity by departmental involvement in APQP, customer and supplier issues.
  • Establishes and maintains positive customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Tracking of key customer indicators, follow-up, analysis, and reporting.
  • Manages the corrective action process ensuring a timely customer response; driving closure as well as ensuring the quality of the responses to prevent recurrence. Leads the coordination and submission of accurate PPAP documentation in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and maintains the metrology program. Evaluates employee performance and provides timely and constructive feedback to employees on individuals and/or team members.
  • Leads the daily activities of the Quality Department to meet established goals and objectives. Customer Representative for TS16949.
  • Provides direction, leadership and motivation to direct reports thru daily supervision and/or mentoring activities.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Post secondary education in quality (preference to CQE/CMQ will be given).
  • Minimum of 5 years quality management system and supervisory experience.
  • Experience with all aspects of APQP, hands on knowledge of PPAP process. Proven ability to review and analyze dimensional reports.
  • Training and working knowledge on development of FMEA and control plans.
  • Full understanding of SPC and ability to apply within manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of MSA. Quality auditing training and experience. Strong problem solving and reporting skills.
  • Experience with Ford, GM, Toyota and BMW systems would be an asset.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing principles would be an asset.
  • Strong leadership skills and a team player, self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Background/experience in plastic injection molding a asset.
