Position: Customer Quality Assurance Leader Mold Making

Reports to: Mold Making Manager


  1. Responsible for organizing, coordinating, managing and evaluating all aspects of post try-out mold making to Windsor Mold standards, including Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery.
  2. Works in conjunction with the Mold Making Manager, Mold Making Supervisor and Leaders to manage all operations of post try-out mold making activities.  As necessary, engage with cross-functional teams to resolve technical molding issues during try-out phase of tool maturation.
  3. Through the EPIC system, initiate and drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives within the department based on employee, cross-departmental and customer feedback.
  4. Approve Post Try-out Shop Orders for setting clear expectations for mold making to address tool open issues (currently under development).
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing quality issues for post try-out molds and eliminate root causes through process changes within Mold Making or working with other groups.
  6. Works closely with other members of the Management Team and other committees to achieve organizational and professional objectives as they related to post try-out tooling (i.e. eliminating repair work orders).
  1. Follows, adjusts, and helps maintain schedule as required to meet timing needs. Assists Mold Leaders in assigning accurate hours and maintaining an accurate up-to-date build process that is realigned when required to do so. Works with Advanced Planning (APG) Group to produce timely and accurate schedules for all post try-out work.
  2. Develop and assist in reporting on Monthly KPI data (timing to address T1/T2/T3 tool issues) and is actively engaged in driving continuous improvement based on results.
  3. Ensures projects are delivered on schedule and on budget by performing basic project management functions (timeline reviews, critical path core/cavity sequences, etc.).
  4. Travel to customer facilities for try-outs to address tool performance issues.
  5. Demonstrates leadership skills necessary for developing effective teams and strives to improve employee morale.
  6. Actively encourages teamwork, collaboration, and cooperation with all levels and communicates effectively and clearly with all team members to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks and projects.
  7. Consistently ensures all mold department personnel take ownership of their work through leading by example.
  8. Is widely seen as trusted and operates with integrity. Treats others with respect.
  9. Has the ability to plan ahead, set and communicate team objectives.
  10. Demonstrates developed problem solving skills including soliciting input from team members.
  11. Train supervisors and employees as required.

ob Requirements

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree, Engineering Technology Diploma or Moldmaking Certificate required;
  • 15 yrs. minimum mold making experience in a progressive, dynamic engineered-to-order environment;
  • Experience leading teams and driving continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment;
  • Project management experience would be considered an asset, but not mandatory.
