We are currently seeking qualified candidates for Quality Engineer for the Automotive Components Division to perform a wide variety of quality functions that require a thorough knowledge of automotive manufacturing procedures and practices.

The ideal candidate for this position is team-focused with excellent communication skills and would be responsible for the following:

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Attend customer warranty return part reviews to determine fault and potential cost allocation
  • Coordination of returned part analysis with plants/program management and completion of root cause & problem solving documentation as required
  • Regular downloading, analysis and reporting of customer warranty data
  • Coordination of plant specific action plans for warranty cost reduction
  • Maintenance of ACD quality reports (Ford Scorecard, GM Bidlist, Overall performance summaries)
  • Aid in department initiatives such as quality database development, training and population
  • Review & Approve GD&T with Program Engineering and Plants and recommendations to ensure needs of customer and plants are met
  • Attend customer reviews to discuss fixture concepts and GD&T as needed
  • Resource for resolution of plant fixture & GR&R issues
  • Development of procedures, forms etc for robust fixture deliverables and program launch
  • Potential for position to add facilitation of AAR reviews with customer and other Quality Engineering functions over time.
  • Launch related reviews as requested
  • Other duties or tasks as assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Four year (or higher) technical or business degree or equivalent work experience
  • Understanding of statistical analysis
  • Understanding of quality engineering processes (PPAP, APQP)
  • Understanding of injection molding and assembly processes
  • Solid understanding of GD&T principles
  • Exceptional organization, communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to handle multiple projects at one time
