Windsor Mold Group is currently seeking an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Manager (EHS Manager).

 Windsor Mold Group has two main divisions, the Automotive Components Division and the Tooling Division. The Automotive Components Division is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers. The Tooling Division designs and manufactures innovative tooling solutions for complex applications for a global market.

 This position is responsible for strategically developing and leading strategic EHS initiatives that are in line with our company culture and drive employee engagement and awareness.  This role will work closely with facilities to assist with EHS training and development of staff and provide advice and guidance to management as it pertains to EHS programs. 

Office location for this position to be determined and travel is up to 75% of the time.

 Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Responsible for ensuring all facilities are up to date with current legislation to ensure compliance to applicable regulations regarding health, safety and environmental (EHS) programs.
  • Provide support and guidance to facility EHS representatives including training, development, communication and assistance with all EHS needs.
  • Lead the company in EHS initiatives and ongoing development of an Employee Driven Safety program.
  • Lead for all internal and external audits for Environmental and Safety and assist with all corrective actions.
  • Actively assist facilities with workers compensation claims
  • Manage, track and report on EHS KPI's
  • Company Liaison to Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Labour and OSHA pertaining to issues as they relate to health, safety and environment
  • Provide support to Human Resource team members for employee communications, training, orientation, safety questions, employee concerns and assistance with investigations.
  • Conduct facility risk assessments.
  • Participate in safety group meetings both internal and external
  • Drive safety team programs within facilities
  • Responsible for managing safety systems
  • Maintain plant compliance with C-TPAT program

Education and Qualification:

  • Must be able to travel and perform work in Canada, US and Mexico.  Must have ability to obtain appropriate travel documents and/or work Visa.
  • Bachelors of Science in Environmental Health and Safety or equivalent Diploma in Environmental Health and Safety.
  • Minimum of 5 years in similar role
  • Must have strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Act (CA - OHSA) and Occupational Safety and Health Act (US OSHA)
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Experience developing Health and Safety plans, programs and policies.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships.  Able to be a team player at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to lead EHS initiatives through others.
  • Must have professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments.
  • Proven ability to manage conflict and find resolution
  • 30-hour OSHA or equivalent educational or practical background
  • WSIB Basic Certification & Part 2 Hazard Specific Certification to the Manufacturing Sector
  • CRSP Designation or working towards and / or five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel to various facilities in Windsor, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas and Mexico
  • Injection Molding experience a strong plus
  • Tool Making experience a strong plus
  • Proficient knowledge of Outlook and MS Office tools
